Across the DACH region, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland, digital experiences are evolving rapidly. Customers expect fast, relevant interactions across all touchpoints and organizations today continuously try to stay ahead. Of the digital experts we surveyed, 63% constantly adjust their online digital experience. But, moving fast is pointless if it’s not in the right direction.
Today, the ‘digital experience’ bar is set by digital native brands such as online market leaders Amazon, Delivery Hero and eBay. By constantly experimenting they know what customers really want and can provide it instantly. Never slowing, digital dominators embed experimentation deep in their company culture. They experiment to learn quickly which specific changes will improve digital customer experiences, generating more revenue, and profits. Experimentation provides data-driven insights, empowering business leaders to make decisions based on more than just intuition. Optimizely customer Delivery Hero commented, “As much as you may think you know your customer, the product and the impact new features would have – you’re not always right.” Experimentation helps organizations learn about customers in real-time, enabling a change of direction at customer speed.
The DACH region has made a good start on its experimentation journey. On average, 40% of digital innovations in the organizations surveyed resulted directly from experimentation, which continually improves digital experiences. Now is the time for the rest of DACH organizations to start their experimentation journey and consider where next to take their digital customer experience to increase growth and stay ahead of the competition. Digital players also need to move quickly. Although 20% of the organizations surveyed have a dedicated experimentation team, only 22% believe their position in the market is not currently under threat. This report will demonstrate the ways to help start, accelerate and scale-out experimentation, as Optimizely customers including AutoScout24, Verivox and Delivery Hero do already.
